Michael Mol Teaches
As entrepreneurs, we are often so busy that we tend to neglect our health. The unfortunate truth is, as fast-paced as our lives may be, not looking after our physical and mental health is detrimental to both us and our businesses in the long run.
Dr. Michael Mol unpacks what entrepreneurs need to look out for, and the practical steps we need to take to ensure that we are in the right condition to run our businesses successfully.
It began with a pair of sunglasses for which Michael, working in medicine then, was prepared to enter a pageant.
Winning Mr SunnyPark led to winning Mr SA, which led to the job of everyone's dreams - presenter on Top Billing.
After years at Top Billing, he decided to combine his passions and start a show centred on health.
No day is the same in the trauma unit, so you have to be ready.
Knowing the basics is critical in the trauma unit so no matter what happens, they know where to begin.
The same can be said for your business - know your basics and how to apply them and you'll survive.
Micheal believes that media shapes culture, which in turn shapes societal values.
Screen time keeps increasing but the values carried by mainstream media are not representative of everyone.
TruthTV is for people who like value-building content, Christian content.
Micheal warns of the info-demic we're also in the midst of.
He recommends doing your research on any information and opinions you may have about COVID before sharing them.
The pandemic has also emphasised the need for telemedicine services like those offered by Hello Doctor.
As far as history is concerned, vaccines have been very effective.
Michael believes that the only way to fight COVID is with herd immunity, which can only be attained with vaccinations.
He recommends taking the vaccine, whichever one is offered to you - not doing so will impact everyone.
There is the obvious - social distancing, wearing your masks and/or taking the vaccine.
Besides those, Michael recommends eating a whole-food-based balanced diet.
Additionally, get 6 or more hours of sleep and throw in some regular exercise.
According to studies, drinking lots of black, sugar-free coffee will help you live longer.
Also, getting a minimum of 7 hours of sleep is vital.
Eating whole unprocessed foods and moving often is also key.
A lot of what we've been told about what's healthy no longer holds.
For example, eggs are actually very healthy for you and fat is not as bad as sugar.
Micheal recommends eating only that which is unprocessed and whole.
Intermittent fasting entails keeping your insulin levels as low as possible for as long as possible.
You do this by not eating anything for a 16 hour period or more.
It is great for weight loss, brain focus and cell rejuvenation.
A slower heart rate is one of the secrets to living longer, so regulate that as much as you can.
Diabetes is a serious illness and one you don't want to get.
Exercise combats diabetes and slows your hearts rate - exercise is the secret.
